Something about us… The dream of Aldo Clemente and Palmirella Crippa has always been to create a pleasant and relaxing place where accommodate and entertain relatives, friends and all the people looking for peace and quiet. After years and years of work in the city they started the research and finally found an ideal place to realize their dream. In the Upper Tuscan Maremma , in a park of 60 hectares, 700 m abosve the sea level, inhabited by rabbits, wild boars, fallow and roe deer, Aldo and Palmirella in 1998 have planned the construction of a relais that they named La Meridiana Guest-House in Maremma. The comments of our guests are paying us off the commitment and the application set in the realization of our project. Animals live undisturbed in this place, where the traces of man, the orchards and olive groves, the spare dwellings harmoniously fit into the lush nature…. Oaks OUR SYMBOL We stop for a while to breathe the fresh air and listen to the silence: the water in the brook, the rustling og leaves… The oaks, two masts protruding from a wall in the garden of Meridiana, are the symbol of the structure.

La meridiana is in a position from which you can reach many interesting places! First you can take guided tours in parks and woods of Montieri. Nearby very interesting to visit is the Abbey of San Galgano and the Hermitage or the circle of Montesiepi, where it is, stuck in the rock, the sword of San Galgano which brings us back to the Saga of King Arthur. Then there is Massa Marittima, a medieval town, where you can buy local products. Travale, Radicondoli and Devil’s Valley area where you can admire the geysers. You can also make nice horse rides. Depending on the time, you can attend festivals and events of various kinds.

La Meridiana offers, in each season, a different atmosphere and new pleasures: in summer a dip in the pool, in autumn the welcoming scent of roasted chestnuts, in winter a merrily crackling fireplace, in spring the blossoming around the pond and along the brook.
