Built in 1762, Il Roveto is an example of the rural late Baroque architecture in a natural environment and wildlife among the most important in southern Europe. The building, as well as being the vital core of an active farm estate of 50 hectares, and offers holiday farm accommodation in large halls obtained from the restoration of old barns and housing once reserved for the agricultural staff. L`Agriturismo "Il Roveto" is only a few hundred meters from the beautiful and unspoiled beach of Vendicari. Following the trails of the Reserve are easily reachable other enchanting places like Calamosche and San Lorenzo. The crystal clear water and pristine marine life guarantee the possibility of pleasant dives even the less experienced. The farm offers its guests two large halls decorated with ancient farming tools, ideal for the organization of ceremonies, meetings and banquets

The Farm "Il Roveto" is only a few hundred of meters away from the beautiful and uncontaminated beach of Vendicari. Walking on the paths of the naturalistic Reserve some enchanting localities like Calamosche and San Lorenzo are easily reachable. The clear water and the intact fauna of the sea offers the possibility of very agreeable dives even to the less experienced.
Birdwatching is very popular ( guided tours are available ) particularly during the nesting period. Two shelters house are placed at the border of the pounds of the Preserved Area, one of the most important and well-preserved wet areas in Europe.
The farm-house hosts a small country museum where many gears, paraphernalia and old instruments once used to cultivate the fields and harvest the crops are collected.
For the art lovers the towns of Noto, Palazzolo, Siracusa, Caltagirone, Modica and Ragusa are a real paradise and deserve a visit. Very close to the farm are the pictoresque fisherman villages of Portopalo and Marzamemi.
The building, besides a vital rural activity developed on a 50 hectares area, offers services of hospitality and accommodations once reserved to the staff of the farm. Since 1976 our Farm works in the holidays sector. So we have a considerable experience in the rural hospitality, nevertheless we remain a calm shelter for those who wish to escape from the urban chaos.
For a taste of Sicily, guests at “ Il Roveto “ may eat the typical dishes of Sicilian cuisine in many “ trattorie “ and small restaurants both in the country side and in the towns. Dishes of the traditional country cuisine are served at “ Il Roveto “ too.
The farm has 5 small apartments composed by one or two rooms.
The interior design respect the rural tradition but it is comfortable. The guests may make use of the common meeting place and of the big court of the building.
Il Roveto is easy to reach. The farm-house is exactly half-way between the two towns of Noto and Pachino. Buses run all day round between the two towns and the bus-stop is just 400 meter away from the farm-house.
